Excerps
from: Home Finder, January 2007
Have you ever fantasised about owning
a villa in the hills amidst the rainforests? Well, there just might be one already
designed with that aspiration in mind. Vistamas, a cozy enclave of just 35 well appointed bungalows, is just one such development. The generous 2-storey bungalows
of between 4,700 sf and 4,870 sf come in 3 interesting layout variants. These homes
seem perfect for the upwardly mobile professionals of urban KL today. They are chic
and contemporary with infinite design possibilities within any of the given 3 layouts.
The layouts are made for a contemporary lifestyle, where one
would want the opportunity
to live an indoors-outdoors experience. What more if one’s property is situated
right next to the Bukit Seputih Forest Reserve, which stretches as far as to Pahang!

Just minutes from Cheras Leisure Mall and 570 feet above
sea level, Vistamas is an exclusive residential enclave. Both gated and guarded,
it has round-the-clock security with two guards on duty on each shift and CCTV security
system. On top of that, there’s also a panic button in the master bedroom of all
its bungalows. Other than high-tech security, Vistamas provides convenient and secured
Smart Security system as you enter and exit from the guard house. You need not roll
down your car window when using your Smart Security Access card, as the system is
equipped with a long-range card reader system.
Unlike most residential area, Vistamas uses an underground
system for its drainage and wiring. Neither visible drains nor wires are in sight,
making it not only more appealing but also safe for the children.
Set in a contemporary tropic setting with a timber deck,
the swimming pool, playground and BBQ pit provide another great reason for the whole
family to come home to.
The living room has a high ceiling giving it an air of
grandeur. The design
of the show unit seen here is chic and sophisticated. It’s colour scheme of cream,
with accents of pewter and black gives the design a smart, sharp touch. Large contemporary
furniture pieces in this large room give it an air of formality. The draperies are
dramatic with the bold stripes and tied back in a formal manner. A simple coffer
with cove lighting in the ceiling enhances the ceiling height and gives the room
a soft indirect light source. The dry kitchen leads off from the living room with
a bar at the front, next to the living room. This is perfect for entertaining. The
design of the kitchen here is kept simple so as not to detract focus from the living
room.
The dry
kitchen being secondary to the living room design is simple with clean lines and
cream colour. The kitchen cabinet doors are designed to not have a need for door
pull and frames. This achieves a seamless effect, making the cabinets almost disappear
except for the long horizontal niche with olive green back painted glass. The niche
serves both as a backdrop for the bar and kitchen, as well as a good display ledge
with its concealed up-light. When entertaining, one can enjoy with a full bar, with
the bottles and glasses lined up along the niche.
There’s
nothing better than having a dining room that gets bathed in sunlight in the daytime,
has a great view of a landscaped garden at night and can be opened up to the terrace
at anytime for an alfresco dining experience. That is just what this dining room
has. The colour scheme here is the same as the living room but there are more creams
except for the drapery. The lovely table setting is simple yet formal in a contemporary
way, adds to the ambience of the room. Very elegant.
Upstairs, the hallway to the family room has an interesting feature wall in diamond
shaped pattern upholstery in pewter colour. A long line of cove lighting in the
ceiling gives this feature wall just enough emphasis. Everything else in leading
to this family space is kept at a minimal with clean white walls and warm floor
of solid timber strip flooring in teak. This space function also has a private gallery
for the family who might be into collecting art or to display family photos.
The colours in the master bedroom are warmer, with the
solid timber flooring and timber-panelled wall at the headboard, pewter, black and
a touch of cream.
The
diamond patterned upholstered wall is carried in from the
hallway at the family room. The bedscape is chic and sophisticated with the smart
pewter bedspread in silk and silk pillows. A dark shaggy carpet underfoot gives
the room that extra touch of plush. Very sexy!
The
bathrooms are contemporary with built in vanity cabinet in lightwood and vanity
top in glass mosaic. The use of over counter bowl is a nice unusual contemporary
touch to the design as this is not usual for a development in this market.
